Like ancestors found in the dust

زمانے میں آئے تھے اقتدار کی طرح
مٹی میں مل گے اجداد کی طرح
کیا قصور تھا مٹی میں رہنے والوں کا
مٹی میں مل گے گلِ خار کی طرح
ہر قوت گراتی ہے کوہِ نور کی چمک
کوہِ نور نہیں گر سکتا کردار کی طرح
کچھ اپنے بھی ظلم ہیں کچھ اپنی بھی خطا ہے
زمانے میں اٹھا مومن صاحبِ اصرار کی طرح
بے مثل کردار ہے ان کا کیا شان بیان کروں
وہ تارہ محمدی تھا جو اٹھا موسم بہار کی طرح
توبہ کروں رب سے ہر خطا پر اپنی
فرید جب آیا افکار اظہار کی طرح
قدرت نے کیسی روشنی اجاگر کی ہے مومن
جنت میں بھی اٹھا صاحبِ اقرار کی طرح
اب تیری زندگی بھی کم ہے عادلؔ اس جہاں میں
پر تو جو اٹھا تو اٹھا بھی دل برداستہ حقدار کی طرح
